Aurora

The Aurora is a mesmerizing natural phenomenon caused by charged particles from the Sun colliding with gases in Earth's atmosphere, producing vibrant displays of green, pink, and other hues across the night sky. This phenomenon occurs near the Earth's poles, where it is known as the aurora borealis in the Northern Hemisphere and the aurora australis in the Southern Hemisphere.

My journey to capture this spectacle began in Iceland in 2019, where I photographed the phenomena at the Krafla geothermal power plant and at Snæfellsjökull National Park by the Snæfellsjökull volcano, witnessing its stunning brilliance for the first time.

Later, I photographed the auroras in Norway during a magical "dancing night" aboard the research vessel Kronprins Haakon as it sailed through the Norwegian Sea, heading back toward Tromsø; and in Bergen experiencing one of the most intense auroral displays of the last 20-30 years. These were truly unforgettable moment etched in vivid beauty.
