Astrophotography
A Glimpse of the Cosmos
Astrophotography is a specialized field of photography that involves capturing images of celestial objects and phenomena in the night sky, such as satellites, planets, stars, galaxies, and nebulae. This technique requires long exposure times, often several seconds to minutes, to gather enough light from distant astronomical subjects. To achieve sharp and detailed images, photographers typically use a tripod-mounted camera. Astrophotography also involves post-processing techniques to bring out faint details and colors that are not visible to the naked eye.
Here, I present some of my most iconic astrophotographs, starting with my first capture of the Milky Way at Tongariro National Park, North Island, New Zealand in 2016, followed by the South Island in 2018, and then the Supermoon and comet NEOWISE over Italy in 2020.
